Description: The film begins with a travel montage suggesting the modes of arrival of the town's visitors. A steam train is filmed racing through Hayes & Harlington station, a plane is shot flying overhead and a BOAC coach is seen driving on a road. At Hayes & Harlington Urban District Council Town Hall the Mayor of Hayes & Harlington receives gifts from the representative of Schleswig and Mantes-La-Jolie, its new twinned towns. The gifts includes a bag of footballs, a glass vase, an elegant tablecloth, some engraved silverware, several boxes of champagne and a shield for the twinned towns. The visitors are then taken on a tour of local sites. The first stop is the EMI Electronics factory on Blythe Road. A coach delivers the international visitors and they and the Mayor of Hayes & Harlington are photographed in from of the building. They are then escorted on a tour of the factory where they see vinyl records being pressed. Next stop are two of the district's schools. Firstly Pinkwell Junior School (at 75 Pinkwell Avenue) where the visitors walk around classrooms and see children working at writing, reading and art. Attention is placed on the children's art displays decorating the walls and a display about going to school around the world. They are served tea before travelling on to Harlington County Secondary School. The exterior of the new buildings are filmed before following the visitors inside where they view a gym class using a climbing frame, a horse and mats. The final visit is to the Nestles factory, where a party is held in large hall to mark their farewell. The foreign representatives give thanks to their hosts and enjoy an evening of musical performances. The film ends with another travel montage with a bus and train indicating the visitors' travel home.
