Hillingdon Local Studies, Archives and Museum Service
Our moving image collection consists of nearly 100 films and videos, now copied to DVD. They range from films produced for the local councils, home movies and commercial films made in the area. Films made at the nearby Denham film Studios are now being collected on DVD.

Access: Opening hours; Monday 9.30-8.00, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1.00-5.30, Friday 10.00-12.30, 1.30-5.30, Saturday 9.30-12.00, 1.00-4.00 Sunday closed. Prior notice is requested to ensure that viewing equipment is available.
Material in standard formats (film, VHS or DVD) is collected. Subjects include anything of relevance to the London Borough of Hillingdon, people, places or events. There is a special collection of copies of films made at Denham Studios.

Whilst filming Hamlet at Denham, starring Laurence Olivier, the director realised that they did not have a complete copy of the play. A copy was quickly borrowed from the local library, Uxbridge. On return it was signed by most of the cast, including Laurence Olivier and Jean Simmons
