The trip begins in Braunston, Northamptonshire and ends at Brentford in West London close to the River Thames. Along the way there are stories of the history of various places on the route including: Braunston Lock Flight, the Braunston tunnel, Norton Junction, Buckny Lock Flight, Weedon, Gayton Junction, Northampton, Stoke Bruerne and its canal museum, Cosgrove Lock, Cosgrove Aqueduct, Milton Keynes, Stoke Hammond, Leighton Buzzard, the Chiltern Hills, Marsworth, Tring, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead, Rickmansworth, Uxbridge, Denham Marina, Hanwell Locks, Brentford Marina and Thames Lock.
