Summary: Film made by students of the National Film School, Beaconsfield, of the photographic inventor, Arthur Kingston (1891-1974), who lived in Uxbridge.

Description: Kingston speaks about his early life including his schooldays and service during the first world war in the RAF Flying Corps. He moves on to discuss his engagement with the film and photographic business including time at Pathe and work as a cameraman for the newsreels and silent films. He shows off his collection of cinema and photographic memorabilia and speaks about his invention of plastic lenses, dies and false eyes as well as a system for recording television images on film. He was filmed shortly before his death at the age of 83, but speaks eagerly about the prospects for spectacles-free 3-D cinema and laments the poor financial rewards of being an inventor.
