Summary: London 1961. Alex, a jazz musician, and Faith, a singer, share an uneasy life together. The relationship on the rocks, Faith is willing to try to win back Alex by any means. Alas, her attempts at making Alex jealous by leaving the club with a stranger backfire. Assuming that Faith has found a new beau Alex leaves their flat not knowing that Faith has been waiting for him.

Description: 00:00 – 01:10 ‘The London International Film School presents’ card. ‘Blues Is My Middle Name’ title card. A woman (Faith) puts a record on. She walks over to pile of magazines on the floor. She picks them up and puts them on the bed, then goes over to the wardrove and picks a dress out. She throws the dress on the bed and sits down in front of the mirror. She looks at herself in the mirror, then gets a cigarette and a box of matches out of a drawer.
01:10 – 02:51 She gets up and walks over to the window and lights the cigarette. She opens the window and leans out. She smokes the cigarette, then stubs it out when she hears a man (Alex) walk in the door. Alex walks in with bags and puts the down as Faith embraces him. Alex walks over and shuts the window. He takes a glass from the drinks trolley and goes to the fridge. Faith sits down on the bed and starts unpacking one of his bags. He takes off his jacket and pours a drink.
02:51 – 04:27 Alex sits down in an armchair and she sits down next to him. They have an argument and the man gets up and leaves. Fade to black.
04:27 – 05:24 Fade in to a doorway. Alex walks back in and sees the open window. He walks over and closes it. He finds her dress on the bed. He goes over to the bathroom, opens the door and looks in. He sits down on bed and picks up the telephone.
05:24 – 06:51 Faith stands at a microphone singing. Shot from behind Fath of the Audience in the bar. Alex walks down the stairs into the bar. Close up on a man in the audience smoking a cigarette. Alex walks over the bar and speaks to the barman. Faith sings on the stage with a guitarist next to her. The barman pours Alex and drink and places it on the bar. Faith finishes the song and the audience applauds. Faith looks at Alex. Alex talks to the barman.
06:51 – 08:28 Faith sits on a table in the audience and a man lights her cigarette. The man speaks to Faith, and she looks at Alex. The barman pours Alex another drink. Faith walks over to the bar with the man. They goodbye to the barman and leave. Alex speaks with the barman.
08:28 – 09:52 A car drives down a street. In the back of the car, Faith and the man are talking. The car stops and Faith gets out and walks away. She walks back into the bar and asks Ray where Alex is. She picks up the phone and dials a number. The phone rings in the empty apartment. Faith puts down the phone and leaves.
09:52 – 11:15 Faith walks into the apartment and turns on the light. She goes to the fridge and puts olives in a glass, then gets a bottle out and closes the door. She takes her shoes off and opens the window. She climbs out of the window and walks across the roof. She sits on a wall and pours herself a drink. Fade to black.
11:15 – 12:19 Fade in to Faith still sat on the wall looking at the window. Alex walks over to the window and closes it from inside. Alex opens a suitcase and starts to pack some clothes. Faith has another drink and watches him pack through the window. The phone rings. Alex looks at it and then continues to pack.
12:19 14:23 – Alex finishes packing and closes the suitcase. He picks it up and walks away. Faith finishes her drink. Alex walks to the door and stops, before closing the door and walking away. The window opens in the breeze. Credits.
