Description: The film follows a delegation from Uxbridge District Council to its twinned town, the German settlement of Emden. The visitors are escorted around the network of canals, dykes and windmills that characterise Emden. Ships are seen being built in the docks area and a large power station is passed. They take a journey on the water passing many ships, before returning to dockside, where they pass piles of barrels, factories and gasometers. They go to a museum containing medieval arms and a model of the port of Emden. In the town centre they see some floral beds before travelling out to see greenhouses and flower fields. The town's municipal facilities are represented by an outdoor swimming pool. a primary school, a children's playground and new apartment blocks. The visitors also get to examine a mechanized dustcart.
