Summary: An Edmonton Film Society film on the opening of Hollywood Gardens. The official opening ceremony begins with people amassing at the gates by the junction of Silver Street and Lodge Lane. The Mayor unlocks the gates to let Mr Alfred J.C. Hollywood walk in. Inside they are met by a contingent of Edmonton Scouts lining the pathway, which Mr Hollywood inspects.

Description: Events then move to a rostrum raised in the gardens for speeches to a seated audience. Upon the rostrum are seated Mr Hollywood, the Mayor and Mayoress of Edmonton, Councillor Rawlinson (the Chairman of the Parks Committee). Mr and Mrs A. Albu. Alderman ES Taylor and other members of the Parks Committee, Mrs Rawlinson, Alderman J. Reid, Councillor J. Beattie the Deputy Mayor, Councillor J E Cooke, Councillor A E Kerr, Councillor A Glover, and Councillor L Warren. The Edmonton Boy Scouts Local Association present a park bench in commemoration of the golden jubilee of scouting and the centenary of the birth of its founder Lord Baden-Powell. Tea and cakes are served to the guests in a marquee, while many take the opportunity to explore the park and examine the flowers. A visit to the herb garden for the blind affords an opportunity for guests to feel the Braille nameplates. The film ends with views of the park fountains.
