Description: An apparent attempt to capture views of the Edgware Road area before it was changed by redevelopment. Busy street scenes filmed on the roads around the Paddington area revealing both intense pedestrian activity and heavy road traffic, including double decker buses, taxis, business vehicles and private cars and motorcycles. There are incidental views of the exteriors of the Yorkshire Stingo Public House, 'Henry's Radio & Electronics' shop on the Harrow Road, Capital House, the Red Lion Public House, the Gaumont Cinema on Edgware Road, Edgware Road underground Station, the Metro Turkish Baths at 16 Harrow Road, the Metropolitan Theatre at 267 Edgware Road (with views of the stone work of its upper facade, and painted signs above the entrance proclaiming "Begorrah! London's Irish Musical Hall" with an accompanying cartoon Irishman and shamrocks), the shop of 'David Clifton Craftsman Tailor', a closed shop signed 'Hand Made Shoes', rundown terraced housing, a grand apartment building on Mitcham Street, St Marylebone Hospital's 'Psychiatry and Child Guidance' building. The film concludes with scene of men surveying the area using an optical theodolite and ranging poles.
