Description: The gasometers on Crown Road are visible in the background of some shots. A reminder of the ongoing Second World War comes in the form of a sign for the 'ARP Wardens Post'. At Collingwood Recreation Ground, some Brigade leaders and boys report to two senior members in order to receive commemorative shields. Then while the brigade members stand to attention, two officials walk amongst them and inspect the boys with Brigade officers. The Brigade members then march past the officials who take their salute, before proceeding into Sutton town centre. The parade, led by a marching band, walks up Sutton High Street, before turning left to travel west along Cheam Road, passing the corner branch of Lloyds Bank. A policeman walks at the rear of the parade, and behind him are some private vehicles and a double decker bus held up by the parade. The parade passes Trinity Church on Cheam Road and proceeds along St Nicholas Way passing crowds stood about a podium on which the Mayor and other dignitaries stand. The parade pauses at a park with a bandstand, before continuing on as part of a larger parade featuring nurses, ARP men, military cadets and scouts. (possibly along Grove Road).
