Oakdale Youth Choir from Gwent performed in this quarter final at St David's Hall in Cardiff. They were put through to the semi final in Buxton Opera House where their journey ended. Not bad for a choir that had been formed only 18 months earlier and went on to take 2nd place in the Youth Choir section at the Llangollen International Music Festival the following year! I was the page turner in this performance and joined the choir later.
We have reformed the choir in recent times and performed only last weekend in Blackwood. Nigel Jones continues to conduct the choir which is due to perform Faure's Requiem at Easter.
