Title number: 6
LSA ID: LSA/7
Description: A film from the 1953 Hendon Show. The 3rd annual Hendon Show begins with presentations of bouquets to guests of honour and an opening speech from the Mayor Victor A. Sully. The Mayor crowns Miss Rose Lynch as this year's Floral Queen. The show's entertainments include a team of instructors from the Aldershot Army School of Physical Training performing a gymnastic display. Elsewhere at the show there is a fun fair, with sideshows, booths, and fairground amusement rides. The show's associated Grand Floral Parade is filmed passing Hendon's Gaumont Cinema (on the corner of Watford Way and Queens Road) there are decorated floats for the Civil Defence Corps, the British Red Cross Society, the Express Dairy and the seaside resort of Clacton. Also in the parade is a vintage car promoting the upcoming comedy film 'Genevieve' (it is not, however, the Darracq car in the film). The film ends with the Mayor of Hendon awarding prizes
Further information: This film was presented to the Mayor of Hendon.
