Description: A trip down the River Thames beginning at Jubilee Gardens, looking across the river towards the Houses of Parliament. Two tugboats named 'Winston' and 'Churchill' mare filmed moored in the river, and the fire fighting boat 'Fireflair' is recorded coming into a pier. At Westminster Pier, St Stephen's Tower and the statue of Boadicea are visible behind as the boat 'Viceroy' moors up. The filmmaker then joins a boat journey east from Westminster Pier recording the riverside buildings and structures passed including, Shell-Mex House, Cleopatra's Needle, St Paul's Cathedral, the Wilcox Hoses building, and the Monument. A shot looking west along the Thames from Tower Bridge features London bridge, the dome of St Paul's Cathedral, the smoking chimney of Bankside power station and the river frontage of Cannon Street Station. Then the film moves down to record the Tower of London's outer walls, some beefeaters, a policeman, and views of Tower Bridge. Then its back to the boat journey east, passing the Tower of London, going under Tower Bridge, looking into St Katherine's Dock, and passing many of the warehouses of Wapping, the Town of Ramsgate, Mayflower and Prospect of Whitby public houses, the Isle of Dogs, Millwall and on to Greenwich. At Greenwich there are views of the Cutty Sark, the Old Royal Naval College, the Trafalgar public house, and Greenwich Power Station. The film moves inland for a while to capture shots of Greenwich Park, St Alfege Church on Greenwich Church Street, and the yacht Gypsy Moth IV. Then it is on eastwards again to the Woolwich Ferry and the King George V Docks. The film concludes with footage taken on a visit to the 'GLC Barrier Site' where the Thames Barrier is shown under construction.
