Description: A compilation of disparate pieces of home movie related to the family of a child called Barbara. The film begins with what appear to be Christmas celebrations. Inside a domestic front room a group of children and adults watching a film projected on the wall. Later the children play with toys on the front room floor and scoff some offered chocolates. Barbara is filmed sat on a bed with new dolls and the debris of newly opened presents all around her. A woman in a maid's uniform delivers a large turkey on a serving dish to the dining room where the lady of the house slices it. In the evening Barbara sits on the laps of adults in front of the fireplace and is read stories from a children's book. The remainder of the film includes a trip to a beach (possibly at Folkestone) recording the spiralling seagulls, and children running and playing. There is also film of children playing in a back garden, including staged scenes with Barbara in a toy car, consulting a map before cycling away and later imitating her father by pretending to film her grandmother with a movie camera.
