Description: The film begins with a school sports day with children competing in running races, sack races and other games. There follows a school trip, including visiting a miniature railway and going to a farm where the children watch goats being fed, and clambering around a ruined castle with moat. They also get to watch potters at work, on a wheel and decorating pots. In a colour sequence several children play on the beach. On a separate occasion, there is film from a school trip to the Lake District, with scenic views of the lakes and hills, often swathed in low cloud. The children make many walks through the countryside, hiking up the hills and also get to make boat journeys on the lakes themselves.
