Description: A recording of day and evening services at the Methodist East End Mission at 583 Commercial Road (also known as the Stepney Methodist Church). A church anniversary forms the occasion for an open day at the East End Mission drawing in people from other churches. The day service features the congregation standing to sing hymns. a reading from I Peter and a sermon from the Chairman. There is also film of the Mission's exterior on Commercial Road as well as internal shots showing flowers, decorations, books and some information boards. A montage of images also records the local area with photographs of local people and council housing including the Mountmorres Estate. The Evening service features more hymns, a prayer of gratitude, acts of worship, a collection and music performed by the Church band. Thanks are given to donors to the Mission's appeal for funds and Bible are presented to a number of those attending
