Summary: A promotional video for the new Limehouse Link road.
Title number: 2982
LSA ID: LSA/3920
Description: The history of London's docks from the busy port of London through the second world war and post-war dereliction forms the preface to this celebration of docklands regeneration. Attempting to address the concerns of potential tenants of the new office space being built on the Isle of Dogs this video communicates how new transportation networks will connect Docklands to the rest of the city. It refers to the Docklands Light Railway and Jubilee Line extension but pays special attention to the new road route known as the Limehouse Link, running from the Highway in Wapping, under the Limehouse Basin and on to North Quay on the Isle of Dogs. The video explains why the Link is sited where it is, and outlines the impact it will have on the local community and environment both while it's being built and when it is completed. The video mixes recordings of the construction process with diagrams and graphics explaining the techniques used.
