Summary: A dramatic story of amnesia in east London.
Title number: 2946
LSA ID: LSA/3872
Description: A slide-tape project made by pupils of Ben Jonson Primary School with Keith Frake, in conjunction with the Whitechapel Art Gallery. A series of charcoal and pencil drawings and colour and black and while photographs illustrate an eerie story narrated by the school children. A child wakes up in a room he doesn't recognise and realizing he has lost his memory he sets out on a journey through a strangely familiar landscape in an attempt to regain it. The photographs and illustrations present an askance view of Stepney, its tower blocks, terraces and subways revisioned as a gothic arena.
