Description: Voluntary Guide Margaret Pearce leads a tour of the 'Richmond Hill Walk' from the Old Town Hall of Richmond Borough and Heron House on Heron Square, up onto Richmond Hill with views of Ham House, the village of Petersham and the rugby ground at Twickenham. Margaret Pearce also leads visitors on an historic tour of Richmond taking in Richmond Green, the Tudor history of the area, Oak House, the Old Palace Terrace and on to Richmond Theatre, the Maids of Honour Houses, the old Tudor Palace. A final walk along the riverside is led by guide Ron Morley who take his tour past the site of Henry Tudor's Palace, Asgill House, Trumpeter's House, to Richmond Bridge and its views of Star And Garter house and Richmond Hill. The programme also features Margaret Pearce being interviewed by presenter Daphne Wearing at the Richmond Gate Hotel about being a guide and the types of people who come on the walks and guide Ron Morley interviewed on the riverside about his experiences leading walks. On Richmond Hill, two walk participants Yvonne Masson and Janet Hall are asked about what they enjoyed about the trip and why they joined the tour. Flavia Gapper, the manager of the Richmond Tourist Information Centre speaks about their support for the voluntary guide service.
