Description: A film titled 'Old Richmond'. A mother sits with her three children, showing them photographs of old Richmond in a book. She then takes them out to walk the streets and find the buildings illustrated, taking in Ormond Road, King Street, Old Palace Terrace, and the Old Palace itself before turning down towards the riverside. The children play in the autumnal leaf fall from the trees. Beside Richmond Bridge some ragged looking old men, fish from rods and one of the boys has a go with a branch. They watch pleasure craft on the Thames and a train passing over the railway bridge. Down at Teddington Lock, boats of different sizes make there way between the tidal and upper parts of the river. The family's architectural tour continues with more Georgian buildings and passage down St Helena Terrace before returning to the river and the bridge. New scenes shot in springtime begin with a pet Dalmatian in the garden and cherry trees in blossom before continuing on with architectural exploration. This time the journey takes in the Castle Restaurant, the Waterman's Arms public house, the Richmond Garden Shop, the White Cross Hotel, Richmond Parish Church, Wellington Place, Bethlehem Chapel, Patten Alley, Clarence House, Richmond Park, Pembroke Lodge, St Peter's Church in Petersham, Douglas House, and Avenue Lodge. Until finally the family retires to their own elegant little Georgian house.
