Summary: Take a journey with the children of Pelham Junior School as they take a trip to the zoo and make friends with an elephant. They also visit a showjumping course, go on nature walks and visit the beach, taking in the many beautiful sights of Dublin and Wicklow along the way.

A large map of the United Kingdom is set up outdoors on a sunny day. We see a school building which is single story and pavilion like and we pan around the building. The building and playground are deserted and a netball hoop sits alone in the playground.
A group of parents and children are gathered behind a coach with the large rear boot up. Luggage is being loaded and goodbyes are being said, the adults are smartly dressed.
We see children being guided onto the coach in profile, and the coach pulls away from the school. The coach is possibly a Spencers or Wallace Arnold model from the 1950/60s.
Brief Scenes of the children on the train platform(possibly Euston) and aboard the train, they are standng and seem expectant and excited by their journey.
A view of a boat leaving a harbour (possibly Hollyhead) on a grey and overcast day. Views of entering a harbour(presumably Dublin) with a view of church spires and building outlines.
A view of a residential hall like building with a white stone entrance with a blue notice board(possibly Epsworth Hall) flanked by two large trees on a sunny day. A number of smartly dressed pupils exit the building through the white stone entrance and walk down the steps, followed by four adults(one man and three women) who follow after the students.
Views from a moving bus or coach, we see a cyclist against a row of parked cars, and cross a small bridge.The Dublin Air terminal building comes into view-a large white building with Dublin written across the front of the building-two green buses are seen with advertising boards on top of the bus for 'Phoenix the prize ale'. The school group are walking outside the building by the car park. Three planes are seen taxing on the runway.
Views from a beach of the sea and a large group of children running back from the sea a man smartly dressed in a power blue suit white shirt and tie encourages the children to get moving!
We are now in Phoenix Park and see the Wellington testimonial, magazine fort, and Dublin zoo. A gorilla looks forlornly from his cage and giraffes wander around their enclosure, reaching out to members of the public for food. A young elephant wanders performs on a small stage and wanders among the school children. A number of animals are seen including a penguin,two bears,chimps and a polar bear.
The children walk in an orderly fashion through the picturesque park on a sunny day in orderly fashion guided by the man in the smart power blue suit.
More animals are seen including a zebra and her young foal. The school group leave a large white building they are wrapped in overcoats and carrying bags,at the back is our well dressed man, waving a piece of paper in the air. The children are then walking towards a large group of buildings.
A showground with horses and dogs racing around, we see the full view of the impressive showground(possibly the ZDS arena), horses in paddocks,internal view of the stables, fences on the showground, the children are walking around the edge of the showground, and spectators watch an equestrian rider successfully clear a number of hurdles. A marching band are on the parade ground leading a procession of equestrian riders smartly dressed on their red tunics. There are a number of spectators watching by the rails and as the parade goes around we see a the grandstand full.
The event continues with another rider and the spectators watch on intently.
A number of adults are seen looking at a scenic view of countryside, and walking along a country path, in country hills. A couple come into view smiling at the camera, a blue ford zodiac car drives by, the children are on a hike in the hills(possibly Dublin or Wicklow), and a waterfall flows down black stone rock, the children are playing at the base of the hills, as the waterfall crashes dramatically and beautifully above them. The group are sitting on the rocks at the base, safely dry and are enjoying the sunny day.
On a residential road a group of pipers are walking down the road. The school group are entering a building and next seen paddling in the sea and sitting on a peddle beach, our well dressed man is now getting ready for the sea, and we see him in blue trunks organizing the children who are playfully burying one of their chums in the sand! They pose above the buried schoolboy!
The school group are smartly dressed and pass by and enter a school building. We see the front of the impressive building with has an entrance with two spires(possibly Trinity College Dublin).
Views of the River Liffey from O'Connell Bridge, a busy and bustling O'Connell Street, with the O'Connell monument and Nelson's Pillar.
A sunny day at the beach the children are enjoying the sand and sea with the teachers and we see a formal shot of the happy group.
At the impressive school building the children are inside enjoying a formal dinner on long tables with a larger group.
The children are on a cliff top walk on a gray and murky day, the children walk along the cliff and settle down for a well earned break!
At a sign post(we can't make out the signs)two teachers seem to be conferring and agreeing the way to go, they are followed by another two teachers in plastic macs who seem to disagree on their designation!
The group are on a boat in very choppy seas, they are going up and down, and a woman gestures that she may be sick! but they all appear to be none the worse when they arrive at a beach, and enjoy the sun and sea.
Misty views of the cliffs and sea, the school group are on the edge of hill hanging over railing enjoying the view. The group arrive at a village (Wicklow Way) and visit the monastic site and tower. Further views of Wicklow and the surrounding beautiful hills.
We see the school group climb up the hill. The group are then seen carefully climb down the hill down a rocky hill.
The group are outside a Victorian building-possibly a school and as they leave-are waved by a small group of children .
Scenes of Dublin town centre on a very busy day. The children are queuing to enter Nelson's
Pillar, and the camera pans up to show the top of the pIllar at the observation deck.
The children are in park(possibly Phoenix Park) feeding the ducks by a pond, views of the park, two women(teachers) enjoy a spot of sunbathing in deckchairs, it's a beautiful day and three children play in the fountain.

A group of smartly dressed schoolgirls in school uniform are getting on a bus and wave at the camera. Our school group are leaving the building with suitcases and travel through the countryside back to the harbour. A sign directs them to 'Mail Boat Departure'. A boat is viewed at the quayside and the children excitedly board the boat, final views of the harbour, and seagulls excitedly circle the boat,as we leave the harbour and bid farewell to Dublin.
Home! A glimpse of Waterloo Bridge and the Thames, and parents excitedly greet the children returning.
