Summary: A cine club film recording local events during the twenty-fifth anniversary of Bexley's incorporation as a municipal borough. Danson Park hosts a sports event which includes long distance running and a spirited tug of war. A parade through Bexleyheath town centre includes a procession of priests and Air Cadets, there follows an address by the Mayor next to the memorial.

Description: The film begins at the bowling green at Danson Park, where the Borough Mayor joins in with the men competing in a bowling match. On a rainy day, the Mayor and the Mayoress are back in Danson Park, this time hosting tea inside Danson House. Back in better weather, Danson Park hosts a sports events with a crowd of spectators watching a series of competitions from long distance running (including a road race) and sprints, to a spirited tug of war, Other people are entertained with a fun fair with fairground rides and stalls including a merry go round, a boxer's punch ball, swings, and shooting games. A sunset heralds a firework displays at night, including the Queen's profile made up in lights. On Sunday 5th August 1962 the filmmakers record the 'Old English Fair' put on by the Bexley Round Table. People in Edwardian and Victorian costume roam around the park, while children enjoy fairground rides and games including horseshoe pitching, There is also a display of country dancing. A separate event (probably Armistice Day) includes a parade through Bexleyheath town centre and on to the War Memorial on the corner of Oaklands Road and Methuen Road. The parade includes Air Cadets, a priest and church boys, and ends with an address by the Mayor beside the memorial. The film ends with a short a sequence in which members of the Welling and District cine club show their small gauge cameras, how they edit movies and other devices they use in the production of films.
