Description: A banner across a road states 'Havering greets Europe' a number of spectators wait by the side of the road a woman in a smart patterned summer dress looks expectantly into the distance waiting for the parade to begin, a gentle breeze causes the leaves and branches to sway on a bright sunny day.
A military band comes into view and a drum major leads the troop of drummers and brass band, behind them a group of women in yellow tops and brown skirts(possibly brownies?) performing a dance with poms poms. Another group appear carrying a banner 'Havering greets europe' they are carrying flags of europe (UK, France,Greece,Spain,Denamrk and are dressed in different national costumes. Two girls dressed in american style cheerleader unifroms carry a banner for Jean Hewetts Stage School,they are leading a group of children in matching uniforms waving flags of the European union, at the back of the group is an older woman in spanish national dress. A procession of cars follows-Ford and British Leyland.
A drum majorette band comes into view performing a routine they are colorfully dressed in smart blue white and red uniforms,
A truck is towing a trailer which is a small stage with an awning stating Thurrock, on the trailer is a beauty Queen who waves to the crowd.
A float Lorry comes into view for John Smith's bitter(?) it is a jungle scene and people are in khaki uniforms waving out from the jungle foliage.
A large marionette marching band in pink uniforms preform a regimented and precise routine, and twirl their batons. A beauty Queen and two two other girls in beauty queen dresses and sashes are on a white wooden float with a wishing well at the base the float is decorated with flowers, the girls wave and smile to the spectators.
A number of floats pass by, with school children in matching yellow tops wave to the crowd, a jeep passes by an Ford Cortina leads a group of small girls performing a dance routine with batons and pom poms.
A large colourful float is decked out with the flags of europe people on the float are in national dress and wave to the crowd,behind them is an Essex County Fire Brigade Fire engine. A car is pulling a trailer with the notice Collier Row Carnival Court on the trailer are a number of girls dressed in white beauty queen dresses, a young boy on a bicycle rides and follows the trailer. The crowd is being to group along the route. A small marionette group of girls dressed in white with green pom poms and batons preform a routine. A young girl in the band rubs her nose with her pom pom and perhaps is feeling the effects of the hot day!
A lorry displays a banner 'Havering court Europe week 27th June to 5th July public satisfaction is our aim' and leads a procession of cars including a white London Taxi pulling a trailer. An impressively decorated lorry comes into view the lorry has a number of ballons in the shape of the Union Jack and Italian and German flags, at the front of the lorry is a sign stating Liberty, at the back is a balloon shaped cake, a group of boys look impressed and wave at the float.
A float show a Christmas scene with snowmen, trees, women dressed in red santa claus outfts, and a man on a slay. A brass band comes into view on a Travis Perkins Lorry, they are smartly dressed in white shirts.
A number of different groups pass by including three people in costume on horse back. A large float with a banner states 25 Years of Venture Scouts and has a man climbing up a mountain the float includes a number of items such as a Kayak and sail boat, the flags of the venture scouts flag in the breeze at the back of the float.
A float with a number of blue balloons has children in yellow tops dancing and waving to the crowd.
The carnival is in full flow and we see glimpses of a number of different floats,including a Hari Krishna group, groups of people watch the carnival as it comes to an end.
