Description: Title: Kingston Mini Cine Group present Rose of Kingston
Opening shot of cars parked in front of houses; cut to interior shot of tea and pastries on a coffee table. A man and a woman sitting close together and to the side an older women in front of the tea. The man is smoking and putting his arm around a visibly uncomfortable woman. A close up of the older woman looking unimpressed before cutting back to the man and woman. The man laughs at the older woman who just smiles at him. Cut to an older man sitting in a chair reading a newspaper which he lowers to look at man putting his hand on the woman's leg. The man smokes directly in her face and and she coughs. The older couple (probably the parents of the woman) pay no attention.
A shot of a hand using the knocker on the front door and the young woman gets up to open the door. A man in a grey suit comes in and shakes hands with the first man. As he gets up from his seat to shake his hand the mother offer this seat to the man in grey. But too late the first man sits back down and the second man sits down in a different chair.
Shot of them all chatting then the mother gets up to make a phone call and then tells the first man there is a call for him. She then calls to her husband to go with her leaving the daughter alone with the man in grey and the young woman pats the seat next to her to indicate he should sit there. He doesn't switch seats but instead picks up a newspaper and reads it. The daughter leaves the room and then he sits on the other man's seat and touches the seat where she has just been sitting.
There is shot of a newspaper headline advertising Rose for Sale £60,000. The man in grey glances at it and ponders this and the scene fades out to him imaging a group of Arabic men talking and bidding on her a woman. One of them pulls out a piece of paper that says £60,000.
We cut back to the man on the chair who reads the headline again and the daughter enters the room. He takes her hand, she sits down and he takes both her hands. The man on the phone and leaves the house. The mother comes in with tea and the father also returns to join them. The newspaper is put on the table with a slow zoom to the same headline.
