Description: This amateur film begins with the Union flag being raised on roof of Hackney Central Library, with the spire of St John of Jerusalem Church visible in the background (it appears to have been filmed the from roof of Hackney town hall). There follows some shots of Spring flowers inside a building (some out of these shots are out of focus). The film continues with views of the small park in de Beauvoir square, where daffodils can be seen flowering in the beds. Visible behind the square is the Georgian terrace marking the square's east side (this was demolished in 1970 to build the Lockner Estate). There are also views of the children's play area. Shots of a flag flying over a building introduce film of young men doing formation callisthenics in white gym kit (this is underexposed) including stretching and star jumps. A seated and standing audience look on. The film concludes with water sports at London Fields Lido including a swimming race and a game of water polo, with spectators surrounding the pool and looking on.
