Description: Picking beans, darning clothes and writing letters in the garden followed by Armistice Sunday 1940 Church Parade at Partridge Green - Horsham West Sussex. The Parade takes place at St Michael and All Angels Church, a well built Victorian Church in the village.Shots of armoured vehicles on the roads follow. Domestic wartime scenes - filling in ration books for the family, mother darns socks. Young girl plays Schubert on a piano. Extracts from Pathe film - The Flying Bomb (1944) Girl in bed checks alarm clock on bedside table - puts on dressing gown to sneak downstairs. Goes to check presents under the tree then returns to bed. Christmas Day we see the girl giving a gift to mother and receiving a present in return - a butterfly broach. Shots of stuffing the turkey and putting the bird in the oven. The cooked turkey is then placed on the table, we see crackers and Christmas pudding. The father and children have a nap afterwards.
