Description: On the 9th May 2002 Queen Elizabeth II visited Eastbury Manor House in Barking as part of the Golden Jubilee year celebrations. Here we see behind the scenes at the preparations and build up before the big event, all captured by a local amateur videographer. The entertainments included a Scottish marching band, dancing, period costume entertainers and a song and dance performance from local school children dressed as the Teletubbies! The Queen is greeted by the Mayor of Barking & Dagenham and flag waving crowds before visiting different parts of the sixteenth century manor house,

Further information: The sixteenth century manor house was built during the reign of the first Queen Elizabeth, eventually coming into the ownership of the National Trust. Restoration of the Manor was funded by the NLHF and took place between 2001 and 2006.
