Description: Opening camp site scene with children. Young girls undertake greek dance in colourful costumes. IT 'The staff cricket match 1938.' Staff play cricket on school suburb playing field. Staff talk to camera and with boys. IT '1940 First Forestry Camp Rhyader (sic Rhayder). Shots of lake/damn with mountain views. Forest scene with fallen tree as young boys clear area of branches. A bonfire of dead branches while boys continue to chop down branches. IT 'Clearing and cutting props.' A boy cuts down a tree, and boys stack logs.
IT 'The chute.' A slide carries the logs down the hillside. A boy with an axe trims the tree, and two boys with a bandsaw cut a larger tree. A boy emerges from tent. Scenes of a campsite in colour-with boys engaged in activities and smiling for camera.
IT 'Off to Work.' Displays boys running down a hillside, boys in camp wave goodbye. A lorry with a flatbed comes down a country lane, the boys jump onto the flatbed. They past through gate with uniformed men. Boys stack logs at the bottom of a hill collecting logs from chute seen earlier. A man and a woman lie down and relax in a field. The man reads a paper. A boy brings a cup of tea for the women. The boys bring logs back to the camp.
IT '£.S.D.' boys receive payment for the work in the forestry. A sign 'Scotland Farm W.S.C.A.E.C Latymer's School Harvest camp site 3.' IT 'Rural England.' Shots of rural England, with large lake, rowing boats, Arundel Castle in the background.
IT 'Latymer's Camp lives untroubled.' Camp site scenes, boy with shorts enter tent, and sleepy boys emerge from tent. IT 'Life here flows smoothly.' Boys wash themselves in the open air, and a boy has a bucket of water thrown over him Interior scene of breakfast tent as boys eat. Boys run towards camera with cups and plates.
IT 'Some are disappointed.' A postman on his bike delivers letters to some boys, while others are disappointed. A lorry has the sign 'West Sussex Cadet...partially viewed.
IT 'Still work cures all ills.' Shot of group of boys climbing into back of lorry. The back of lorry is closed the sign W.S.C.A.E.C is on the tail board of the lorry. Lorry drives off, shots of boys can be seen at harvest time in the field.
IT 'Meanwhile the cooks set to work.' Shots of tables outside being cleaned with table cloths put in place.
IT 'Recreations are simple.' Boys peel potatoes over bucket, with shots of cricket match with Pavilion in the background. A shot of an old church door a boy enters the church. Shots of a beach with boys running into the sea with smiling faces, and table tennis game.
IT 'I Love you Nellie De-eAN!' A man at table counts out money and gives payments to boys. IT 'The End.'
