Title number: 20623
LSA ID: LSA/27181
Description: The film has a very abrupt opening, a workman sits on top of a tanker truck with an open hatch. We next see the container he is standing on, along with a large number of metal barrels, behind we can see the posts for the stands for the athletics stadium. The man is filling the container from the barrels. A quick pan shows the interior of the stadium from a high viewpoint. The track at this stage looks red. Whilst he is loading the tanker he is smoking a cigarette. Next we see a lorry with 3M on the doors and a large non-flammable sign across the front bumper. A man in jacket, tie and jeans pulls on the windscreen wipers, whilst the driver inside leans over and closes the passenger door. CU of the sign and Minnesota number plate. Cut to shot of men in white overalls looking after equipment from the back of the van and another vehicle. They seem to be preparing a wheeled vehicle with a hopper on top that is used to actually lay the tarmac. One of the vehicles is very slowly leaving a layer of what appears to be sand. Some of the wider shots have a finger tip over the corner of the frame. The next sequence is a sped up process showing the tartan being laid. We see the vehicle moving slowly away from the camera opener whilst the workmen move quickly around. Cut back to man refiling tanker again. Next more sped up footage from the side this time. More refilling, Back to the side on shot, this time running at normal speed. CU of man in gloves cutting back the very edge of the tartan, he is wearing a respirator. Another man is flicking the surfacing material out of a bucket and sprinkling it over the wet surface.
