Further information: Notes from James Marshall (Local Studies Librarian for Hounslow Library Service): Alfred Sansom [b.1892, Hounslow] filmed these clips between 1935 and 1938. His family lived in a first floor flat on the premises of Spring Grove Central Secondary School, London Road/Thornbury Road, Isleworth, Middlesex, where he was the Caretaker. He is reported to have been a cinema projectionist in a previous employment [bioscope operator on 1911 Census]. He married Daisy Bunting in 1923.
The Sansom's children were named Norman and Kathleen.
The street location seen at 2.42 is London Road, Spring Grove.
The Horse show is thought to be an annual horse show and fair held on Hounslow Heath. Brentford Gas Light and Coke Co. would have used several working horses on local fuel deliveries.
The snow covered street scene at 9.30 is thought to be Thornbury Road.
Inwood recreation ground is in south Hounslow, the town's first public park opened in 1911. Lampton Park is on the north side of the Piccadilly Line in Hounslow and opened in 1930.
