Description: Footage of the opening of a new wing in the Prince of Wales General Hospital (1932), inaugurated by the Prince himself.
We see the masses welcoming the Prince's car into Tottenham, all gathered to celebrate the event. Hospital staff, children, and the general public, all cheering as the Prince (later King Edward VIII and Duke of Windsor) unlocks the new extension. We watch the Prince greet his aunt, Princess Louise (Duchess of Argyll), who is the president of the hospital, and responsible for raising the £30,000 necessary to make it happen. This new wing includes an out-patient department and ward, catering for people who are able to pay for their treatment. Towards the end we hear Prince William's speech, congratulating all involved in making the extension possible.
