Description: Film opens with a poster on a tree advertising Gayton Fair 25th July 1964. Narrator advises that this is the 17th Annual Gayton Fair held at the Harrow County School for Boys. Despite the hot weather the Fair attracts large crowds who can be seen entering the fair and paying the admission fee. Scenes of deckchairs and marquee tents and people in summer fashions. Deputy Mayor of Harrow Councillor Mott welcomes visitors and opens fair. Miss Kathy Green (celebrity/dignitary) is presented with a bouquet of flowers by a young girl. Scenes of various stalls 'smashing up the happy home' where fairgoers can throw balls to smash up crockery, a rock and roll group are playing and people dancing, scenes of children on slides and swings, enjoying the fair on a glorious sunny day.
Inter Title Northwood C.C (Cricket Club) entertain. Commentary advises of a Cricket Match in June. Lord's Taverners v Northwood CC, Taking the field for the Lord's Taverners are a number of celebrities including the actors Michael Craig and William Franklyn (see scorecard link below for full team). Northwood are struggling at 92-4 when Captain Neil Durden-Smith comes to the cease and scores 27 and Northwood declare on 207. The Taverners chase the total and last man J Bythe is out for 12 to leave the game tied.
Inter Title North Harrow Cinema demolished. Scenes of demolished cinema-Embassy Cinema in North Harrow to be replaced by a Safeway Supermarket and ABC Bingo Hall-a wrecking ball is seen destroying the remains of the cinema. The newly opened Supermarket and Bingo Hall are seen at the end of the segment next to the National Provincial Bank.
Inter Title To Rusilip via Harrow. A CND demonstration march are seen walking along a main road a banner at the front of the march states 'You can choose better life or quicker death' the marchers are walking to demonstrate at the American Air Force base in South Ruislip (USAF South Ruislip) which contained US nuclear bombers.
Inter Title Drivers rally at Harrow. Poster depicts Harrow Road safety rally on Sunday 5th July 1964 Central Depot Elmgrove Road Harrow. Rally enables drivers to test their driving skills through a number of disciplines. Various makes of car can be seen-Worsley, Ford Anglia, Zodiac, Vauxhall Viva. Exhibition of Road safety, featuring cyclists and motor cyclists and how to fit safety belts (seat belts).
