Description: Alan's fifth birthday party. A very elaborate birthday cake in the shape of a house is seen on a table with lots of other birthday treats, children sit around the table in party hats, and are served sandwiches, and orange squash.
Adults are seen at the party including a distinguished looking woman with pearls eating a sandwich. The children pull the handmade crackers with varying degrees of success!
The birthday candles are lit, and the birthday boy gets ready, mum holds him up and he blows out the candles! Alan cuts the side of the cake helped by mum.
The children play a number of games including blind man's bluff, and an adult joins in.
Glynis' ninth birthday! A beautifully decorated pink and white birthday cake stands on a white tablecloth outside the back door at the Lawson home. Glynis hold the cake up and smiles.
A number children are in the garden playing apple bobbing and are joined by some adults, some are more successful than others, and some seem to stick to the rules more than others. The children play a number of games amongst themselves, and Glynis leads a game
of football in the garden. Mr Lawson can be seen in the background, and walking towards the camera.
David's seventh birthday party. A row of 'seventh birthday' cards are seen followed by a close up of Alan dressed in a white shirt and red tie.

The children are at the birthday party sitting around the table enjoying the birthday feast, a man in a blazer pretends to throw the apron at the camera, and mum has her cocktail sausage stolen from her lips!
The children continue to enjoy their birthday feast and crackers are pulled!
The two birthday cakes are lit and Karen is encouraged to blow the candles out helped by mum. Alan succeeds in blowing out his candles and cuts the cake to reveal that it is a super fruit cake.
A man appears with a small sauce pan on his head, wearing a cape, waving and pointing to the camera, possibly impersonating someone at the party. He bows as his performance ends.
