Description: David,Alan and Glynis Lawford exit by their back garden gate they are smartly dressed in their school uniforms and are carrying toys. Their mother locks the gate behind her and walks away, two boys next door are waving goodbye from an upstairs window.
The three children are by a London Underground sign for West Harrow. Glynis and her mother are leaving on a red bus coach, A coach is shown with Cheltenham as the destination, another coach has Swansea as the destination. Glynis and her mother are seen exiting the coach.
The children are seen in the doorway of a terraced house in South Wales. In a backyard a number of children and adults come into view, the Lawford boys are smartly dressed in school ties and short trousers, a young girl has her hair combed and face washed by her mother, window come in and out of view dressed in pinnies and aprons.
A number of women are in the yard talking, Mrs Lawford is presented with some green vegetables which she mimics eating for the camera, they are joined by a man with glasses who lights a cigarette, and talks to the women. A white cat is frightened by a toy dog, and we see a series of images showing the group relaxed in the yard,children playing, and a man getting ready to shave, is playing with the children.
Glynis walks down the hill with her grandmother as a young boy on a bicycle rides up the hill and glances back.
Mrs Lawford is outside a post office with Mrs Reece and they talk and smile at the camera.
The children are on a large swing with a man at the back smoking a cigarette, they are then seen on a witch's hat, individual swings, and appear to be in a rural playground.
Glynis is on a pair of roller skates in the backyard, she is watched by her brothers as she tries to master the art of roller skating! Gynis and Alan are seen with her mother, who is pulling Gynis along in her roller skates up a hill. Gynis is now along a cinder path by a row of houses and her skill on roller skates is getting better, although mum is on hand to help her up.
Two woman walk towards the camera across a green terrace in the background are small wooden huts and perhaps a bus stop.
A man steps out of a black Austin A55 car which is outside a terraced house, the children step out of the car with their mother, they are all smartly dressed in their Sunday best, and walk down the path towards the house.
Two smartly dressed middle aged women leave the house and get into the car, Alan smiles at the camera from the car. A girl holds a young child and smiles at the camera, the Austin car can be seen in the background, they are joined by more children and adults, they appear to be different generations of the same family, and walk around the garden by the house. A young boy holds up a white bird(racing pigeon) to the camera, a young girl in a red top strokes the bird with the other children. We see a small yard full of chickens, and the young boy holds up a chicken to the camera, the children walk around the yard and admire the chickens.
The children now walk along a country lane, the older boy leads the children, and they run down the lane.
We next see them by a bridge, playing alongside the riverbank, the riverbank is concrete, with steps and a bank leading down. The children explore and play in the area with a ball, and Mrs Lawson joins in with a game of football.
A village high street scene shows Alan and his mother being waved to by a woman in a blue mac.
An older man with a walking stick accompanies the three children who all dressed in their school blazers across the road from a tobacconists, with a green shop front and Woodbine advert on the side. The children are all eating sweets.
Alan is walking with a boy on stilts, they are both casually dressed and back in London, and Gynis is on her roller skates, now looking like a much more accomplished skater!
A man gets into a green Austin car as the children play alongside, there is a brief shot of a play den made out of cardboard boxes which the boys are playing around.
