Description: Two very young children are playing in a red paddling pool in a garden. The boy is a crawling and the girls is a toddler. The girls is pouring water onto the boys back. A woman in a dark blue dress and pearls is drinking tea from a cup and saucer. The boy walks unsteadily from the paddling pool to a young woman, drinking tea, in a summer dress. Both the women are sitting in chairs, brought from inside the house into the garden. the little boy is reaching into a yellow bucket full of water, he is holding a toy teacup. The girl is filling the bucket with water from the paddling pool. The boy goes upto a man in a shirt and trousers, lying face down on a rug in the garden. The girl comes over and sits on the man.. He plays with her and the boy comes back to join in. The children a re back in the paddling pool playing with the water. The pool is full of a toy teaset and a pouring jug. The two women in the chairs are laughing and looked relaxed and that they are enjoying themselves. We can see down the garden and beyond the paddling pool is a pram. There are toys on the lawn. It is clearly a very hot day and the children are playing. The older woman is splashing water gently over a child in the paddling pool. The older child is pouring water into the pool from the bucket whilst the younger child is sat in the pool. The older child is sitting on a chair, a man comes and lifts her up and swings her off the chair and then plays with her. He carries her to the pool and puts her in it and runs away. This gets repeated several times and then with both of them together. The children are out of the pool and are sharing some Smarties from a box. They are back in the pool and the older girls is pouring buckets of water over the younger child, who seems not to notice. The man ruffles the hair of the older child whilst the older woman, swings the younger child in the air. There is a pebble dashed house in the background. Shot of 'Battle of Britain' 21st Anniversary Souvenir Book'. Four fighter planes in formation with jet trails are seen in the sky. It is an air display (Red Arrows? The planes have red markings on the wings and some of the trails are red) and we can see planes on the ground and crowds of people. A lot of footage of the air display and air acrobatics. Shots of various aircrafts on the ground. Incredible acrobatics from a single bi - plane. Wooden sign ' Stop Runway in use. Wait For Green Before Proceeding'. More crowds, more planes. There are quick shots throughout the film of members of the family - the two young children and the wife(?). There is a fly by formation with 8 fighter jets in perfect formation.

Shot of the little boy dressed in a green jumper and cardigan. The girl is reading 'Jack and Jill' comic and filling in the puzzle page. The boy is climbing on a chair, trying to reach and open the door handle to the room. There is a patterned grey carpet on the floor and he gets a balloon and some clothes pegs that are on the floor. The girl is sitting on a sofa, the boy climbs up and sits beside her, as she is still filling in her comic. The boy is trying to turn the radio on and playing with the knobs. He is climbing over the little girl who is patient with him. He is rolling on and off the sofa. The girl does a somersault on the floor and then helps the boy to do one. There is a l it coal fire in the room. The little boy sucks his fingers intermittently and tries to put his slippers on. End Title.

Further information: Mr Victor Ashlee was a local resident and keen filmmaker. He lived at Eversley Avenue, Barnehurst and later at Caithness Gardens, Sidcup. His four children named Christine, Peter, Diane and Andrew were born between 1957 and 1969 and feature in many of the films in this collection.
