Summary: Taken from the Ashlee Family Films collection at Bexley, this short black-and-white home movie features toddler Christine on Christmas Day working her way through a stack of presents, including a doll, model train and first toothbrush. Later she goes for a ride on her new tricycle , which still has the label attached.

Description: Christine pulls a toy pram out of a box. She then starts piling things into the pram, moves it around and puts more toys into it. We see a pile of unopened presents. Christine holds up a rubber duck. She then takes a teddy bear out of the pram and puts a doll in it. She is handed another doll. We see a hand puppet coming towards her face and she kisses it. Mother (possibly) and daughter are front of the fire and opening more presents. Christine is given a mechanical toy train. We then see an adult testing the toy train out on the floor, it zooms across. Christine opens more presents, she holds a toy and an adult squeezes it. Christine is given a toothbrush and cup and an her mother (possibly) shows her how to use it. Christine sticks the toothbrush in her mouth. Another box is being unwrapped and a doll comes out, Christine holds it tight. She drinks from her cup, the we see her playing with more presents. There is a large pile of discarded wrappings on the floor. Christine is playing with her new toys in front the fire. Now outside, a man with a pipe in his mouth carries Christine in one arm and a new tricycle (with tag still on) in the other. He puts Christine on the tricycle but she does not peddle. He then gives her a push along. We see the new tag of the tricycle but the words are not distinct enough to read. Back indoors the child is handing out sandwiches. She is being lifted up by a man. There is a woman drinking a cup of tea. Then another woman (possibly the mother) is eating a sandwich. There is a man with Christine on his lap and a Christmas tree in the background. Another man is handed a cup of tea. Now a woman is holding Christine. Then, Christine is handed a fork with some food. A different woman now rocks Christine on her lap. Another man is at the table eating food and it fades to black. Finally we see a title 'The End'.

Further information: Mr Victor Ashlee was a local resident and keen filmmaker.
He lived at Eversley Avenue, Barnehurst and later at Caithness Gardens, Sidcup. His four children named Christine, Peter, Diane and Andrew were born between 1957 and 1969 and feature in many of the films in this collection.
