Summary: This is a film about the analysis of gait made on the basis of weakness of muscles controlling joints, disorders of joints and abnormalities of bone. The first two aspects of abnormal gait are further subdivided according to level of the disturbance - hip, knee and ankle. A child with a condition described as a defect in specific muscles demonstrates his gait, which is shot from below through a glass floor. A man is shown with a defect of the knee and compared to a man with normal gait. The gait of a man who has had polio is shown. Further cases with different presentations are shown from a variety of causes. An interesting case study is shown, where the patient lights a cigarette, helped by a nurse, and her feet move around. A woman with gross unco-ordinated movement is then shown. 1 segment
