Summary: A technical film (part of a series) apparently aimed at the inexperienced anaesthetist. Intubation is shown either orally or nasally depending on where on the body the operation is to be performed. With the aid of intertitles each section outlines the apparatus required as well as the appropriate preparation and care of the tubing used. Patients are shown being prepared for anaesthesia. Maintenance of anaesthesia with a variety of scenarios is shown, then finally, extubation. Endotrachael anaesthesia is extolled absolute control of the airways so that choking can be prevented. The anaesthetist can observe the tubing in complex surgery and prevent asepsis particularly in surgery to the head and neck. 5 segments
