Summary: A film about the Spastics Society's Bedfont Hotel in Clacton-on-sea, showing a day in the life of holiday makers staying there. This was the only hotel that catered for unaccompanied people with cerebral palsy. 2 segments.

Description: Segment 1 The beach front of Clacton-on-sea, Essex, is seen. It is morning at the Bedfont Hotel and the guests are sleeping as the staff prepare breakfast and clean. The guests, who all have cerebral palsy, are helped by the staff to get ready for the day. They eat breakfast at the hotel and then go to the beach, where the hotel has a beach hut. A female staff member goes paddling with a disabled woman. Two male hotel staff carry a disabled man's chair into the water so he can feel the sea. They splash around and then dry off on the beach. They all then go for a drive in the hotel's mini-bus and have a picnic in a park. The narrator introduces the hotel guests, talking about their jobs and hobbies. The guests feed some ducks and the narrator talks about how the hotel wants to raise money for a bigger bus and a heated swimming pool. In the evening, the guests socialise at the hotel and listen to the piano. One man writes a letter home using a typewriter. The warden works on the hotel's accounts and the narrator explains that the hotel is funded by a subsidary from the Spastics Society as well as receiving 10 guineas a week per guest.
