The narrator explains that the insect must be pinned so it can be viewed from any angle. Various methods of killing mosquitoes are demonstrated, including the use of chloroform and tobacco smoke. Next, the equipment required is shown and a mosquito is pinned. The mosquito is mounted for display and labelled. A solution of chloroform is used to preserve the specimen.
