Description: Segment 1 In the first half of the film, the fillet plaster is demonstrated on a young boy. It is used to treat tuberculosis in the spine. The patient is measured and plaster slabs are applied to his torso area. The intertitles detail the kind of slabs and where they will be placed, and an animated illustration also shows where they will be placed. The plaster slabs are attached to the patient and held in position. Eventually, the patient's head and torso are almost completely encased. He is suspended vertically from the ceiling. An animated illustration shows where the plaster slabs will be applied. A strut is used to strengthen the plaster. The patient is seen lying on a drying frame.
