Description: Segment 1 The male patient's nose is shown to the camera and the absence of cartilage is pointed out. The doctor presses on the tip of the nose to show how soft it is. The patient is anaesthetised. The chest is incised in order to remove some rib cartilage. The rib cartilage is removed, with intertitles explaining the steps of the procedure. The nose and graft are measured in order to shape the cartilage correctly. The hinged graft is completed. End of part one. The face and nostrils are cleaned. The septum is dissected. The nose is prepared for the cartilage graft, with intertitles explaining the steps of the procedure. The cartilage graft is inserted. The nose is completed and the doctor pushes the tip of the nose as at the beginning of the operation, to show that the nose is now a normal hardness. The operation finishes.
