The patient's heel is anaesthetised and a pin is put in the back of the heel bone and a stirrup attached. Bandages are applied. The swelling has subsided and new plaster is applied. The patient is allowed to put weight on the leg after six to eight weeks. A rubber heel is attached. A cloth boot is worn over the plaster and the patient can move around easily. The plaster is removed and an elastic dressing put on. X-rays of before and after the treatment are shown.
