Description: Segment 1 The intertitles give the patient's history and explain how the traction apparatus works. The patient's heel is anaesthetised and a pin is put in the back of the heel bone and a stirrup attached. Bandages are applied. Time start: 00:00:00:00 Time end: 00:05:38:12 Length: 00:05:38:12 Segment 2 Plaster bandages are applied. The pin is removed. The patient is shown four weeks later. The swelling has subsided and new plaster is applied. The patient is allowed to put weight on the leg after six to eight weeks. A rubber heel is attached. A cloth boot is worn over the plaster and the patient can move around easily. The plaster is removed and an elastic dressing put on. X-rays of before and after the treatment are shown.
