Summary: Short black and white silent film showing the method of treatment for a fracture of the os calcis (heel bone) by the insertion of pins and use of screw traction and special wire. Correction of angulation and shortening is shown as is the application of plaster. X-rays before and after reduction reveal the effectiveness of the treatment. 2 segments.

The foot is massaged to reduce swelling. A pin is put through the ankle joint. Another pin is put through the achilles tendon. The leg is placed on a screw traction apparatus. The intertitles explain how the traction apparatus works. A demonstration is performed with a model. A plaster cast is applied and molded under the traction. The leg is placed on a leg splint, and the leg pin is removed. X-rays of before and after treatment are shown.
