Description: Segment 1 The horse is prepared for surgery. It is pulled onto its side, injected with adrenalin, its neck shaved and iodine applied. The tongue is tied to the lower jaw. Chloroform is administered. The horse's tail is moved to see if the horse is fully unconscious. The intertitles note that it looks like 'a glove finger'. The chloroform inhaler is removed. The horse regains consciousness and it is supported until the effects are fully gone.
