Title number: 17566
LSA ID: LSA/20712
Description: Description: The programme opens with children in the studio dancing and playing musical instruments. The presenter then produces a few examples of the type of work viewers have been sending in and introduces what the topic of today's programme is - a 'showcase of your work'. With footage from previous programmes throughout the series shown, further examples are given of projects developed and items created in the classrooms of schools across London. From drawings of Chaucer to the costumes of Tudor royalty and more, all are shown to reinforce how London Showcase can be used to support education. Children from Falcon Brook School are in the studio to show how they created a simple device to make wool, then weave it. Pictures of dinosaurs are shown, with poems read out to compliment their content. Children from Downderry School are also in the studio with collections students have accumulated, including medals, badges and musical boxes. The presenter then shows a visit made to Toredon school and the different collections on display there. It is also announced that several exhibitions will held by ILEA across London showcasing the work done by these schools. To end the programme, the discovery by one student (Christopher) from St. Mary Magdalene school of a bone found along the Thames is documented. The bone is thought to be from an Ox and is estimated to date back over 400 years. Colour/B&W: Black and White
