Description: Description: This programme looks at communities, in particular, the impact of social, cultural and ethnic differences within these communities. As a case study, the area of Brixton and Dulwich Village are focused on to draw comparisons. As a city, London is divided into zones and it is these zones that are discussed in the opening dialogue. The 'inner city' and 'twilight' zones are detailed through film footage and interviews with locals around Brixton and neighbouring communities. Market footage is shown, with the different types of food, music and even pets, available to buy. Re-development projects and council estates are seen through different eyes, some viewing them with enthusiasm - an opportunity for new, clean buildings - while others view them as inappropriate for the historic surroundings some areas afford. Away from Brixton, the area of Dulwich and the influence of Alleyn's College of God's Gift is shown, again through local footage. Dulwich is shown very much as a local village, with independent shops, a rural-style high street and council estates built on the outskirts to avoid disturbing the community aesthetic. Footage of Dulwich Park, with residents riding horses, walking dogs and playing are shown in contrast to life in Brixton. To end, invisible barriers between wide demographics living in both Brixton and Dulwich are identified, including employment, education and class. Colour/B&W: Black and White. Key Subjects: Britxon, Dulwich, Brixton Market, Dulwich Park, Alleyn's College of God's Gift, Demographics, Communities
