Description: Description: This programme looks at the influence of Prince Albert on the cultural expansion of London during the 19th century. With a narrator to introduce different scenes, a variety of key moments in Albert's life are reenacted by actors. The following themes are covered: the introduction of the Christmas Tree in England, Albert's induction into the Royal College of Arts and finally, the Great Exhibition of 1851. The layout and content of the Great Exhibiton is explored, in particular, supported by visual material such as engravings/prints.
