Description: Illustrates the facilities available and advantages offered to London people and industry moving to one of the expanding country towns. This film looks at London's problem of congested industrial sites and housing shortages and the facilities available in selected towns for accommodating new factories and the staff who move or are recruited from London. The film begins with: 'Most of the scenes in this film are set in towns which started to expand with the help of the LCC. The GLC, with its new and wider opportunities, acknowledge the pioneer work of the LCC in giving so many Londoners the opportunity to live and work in country surroundings.'. Made by Chess Valley Films, it features a commentary by Michael Aspel.
