Description: Trevor McDonald presents a special edition about the government plans on a new bill called 'Streamlining the Cities' which threatens to abolish the GLC. There are interviews with Ken Livingstone of the GLC, Margaret Hodge of Islington Council and Professor George Jones of LSE. Made by Visual Connection (TVC). At the end of the tape there is a television advert concerned with garnering public support against the abolition of the GLC and featuring many famous Londoners such as Barbara Windsor and Warren Mitchell on a London Bus heading to County Hall to protest.
