Preserved moths are attached to flower arrangements as extra decoration. Shots of moth capture in the field, with large cloth bags tied about the branches of bushes and trees in a large garden. Men and women open the cloth bags and remove and collect pupae. Elsewhere, live specimens of moths are collected from plants. A large number of caterpillars are shown upon the leaves of a nettle. Various close shots of beautifully patterned moths. The second film (Pathe; colour; sound) shows silk moths being cultivated in Bexley for export abroad. Mr L. Hugh Newman protects his moths from predators using muslin bags attached to a bush to hide them. A young boy looks at large silk moths on a pot plant: a Tree of Heaven Silk moth from China, a Giant Oak Silk moth from North America, Moon moths from the Indian Himalayas, a Canadian Bulls Eye moth.
